For all rules which apply to every single epic.LAN Tournament, please read the appropriate place (General Rules).

 

Tournament Format

 

It will be a round robin group stage which will feature Best-Of-Three into a double elimination bracket for 8 teams in a Best-Of-Five. The Grand Final will be a Best-Of-Seven. Admins reserve the right to change the tournament format based on how many teams enter the tournament.

Match Rules

 

Arenas

 

Players can choose from any of the standard competitive maps. This includes Beckwith Park, Utopia Colosseum, Mannfield, DFH Stadium and Champions Field.

 

Private Match Create & Join

 

  • Home Team (or higher seed) will always host the private match.
  • Host selects “Play Game" - select “Private Match”, then “Create Private Match”.
  • Make sure “Joinable By” option is set to “Name/Password”.
  • Host creates a Name & Password for players to enter.
  • The opposing player selects “Play Game” - select “Join Private Match”.
  • Host communicates the Name/Password of the local lobby to opponents.
  • Players enter the Name & Password.
  • All players must be in the private match lobby before selecting teams.
  • The home team (or higher seed) can choose the starting side.
  • The match will then begin.

 

Split Screen is not allowed in this tournament. Every player should be on their own PC or PS4 at the event.

 

Re-hosting

 

A re-host can only be played with admin approval. If you need to re-host the lobby for any reason, it is best to ask the admins in charge of the tournament before proceeding.

 

Disconnects and lag issues will only qualify for a re-host if the issue has occurred within the first minute of the game and no goals have been scored.

 

Observers

 

Only admins and approved casters are allowed to observe in game. Anyone else should be booted off the server immediately. Casters will usually approach teams prior to the games starting to confirm they will be observing the match.

 

Results

 

You must take screenshots of each match scoreboard at the end of the match. Both team leaders should then input the scores into the tournament system and then proceed to their next match. We would advise that a replay should be archived on a player PC just so any problems or lack of screenshots can give us the information we need to proceed with the scores.

 

Scheduling

 

All players must be ready in the local lobby at least 5 minutes prior to scheduled time. If a team is in a prior match, then the opposing team should be made aware of this and the admin team.

 

If players do not show after 10 minutes, then that team will lose the first match of a best-of-three series. If it is 20 minutes after the schedule time, then that team will be defaulted.

 

The only circumstances that teams get an extension to the time limits is if they have kept the admins informed of any technical difficulties they maybe experiencing.

 

Pausing

 

You are not allowed to pause a match for any other reason than technical difficulties. If you pause the match to gain an unfair advantage and this is found out, then you will be disqualified from the tournament.

 

These rules are subject to change. The game admin and tournament team leader decisions are always final.
